Painting in The Open Air
Last week on a sunny fall day I saw someone painting En Plen Air - near the Bellingham waterfront. En Plen Air is the French term used to describe painting in the open air.
Terrence A. Brooks is the painter I spotted on Roeder Avenue. He told me that he and his wife had retired to Bellingham from the Seattle area. After searching all over Western Washington, they felt Bellingham was the perfect place. They have downsized to 0 cars, he said they don’t need one here. Terrance said he can get anywhere in Bellingham he wants by bike. If they do need to travel south to Seattle they just rent a car.
If you’re interested in buying one of Terrance’s paintings he can usually be found at Bellingham’s Farmers Market on Saturdays or visit his web site terrybrooksart.com You can also check out the books that he has written on his website.
If you are thinking about retiring and want to check out Bellingham or if you live here and want to search for a home, give me a call at 360-961-0720 - I would love to tell you more about my town or help you find your dream home.
